When I first tried FilmPack 7 back in October 2023, I felt I didn’t need the full version for my own personal use.

After all, if I wanted photographs with the analogue look, I had a handful of film cameras I could use to achieve that look.

But times and circumstances change, and having recently sold off my small collection of working film cameras, I decided that maybe FilmPack 7 would offer a good alternative to shooting the real thing.

Now, thanks to DxO, I have a full non-trial version of FilmPack 7.

Create a retro look photo with FilmPack and Photolab.

I didn’t set out to create a retro look photo. Unfortunately, I got a bit sidetracked once I realised that FilmPack 7 is about so much more than making digital images look like analogue film.

I ended up just playing with FilmPack to see what could be done by using not only the film emulations, but also the other creative options that are automatically integrated into Photolab 8 when FilmPack is installed.

As I said in my earlier story DxO FimPack 7 is “easy to use, and fun, fun, FUN

And I certainly had a load of fun starting with this original photograph….

At the end of the video I explained how to create a Retro Look preset from the settings in the final image.

So I grabbed a handful of “originals” and applied the Retro Look preset to them just to see how the preset worked on other photos.

Here are the results.
